Hello! Welcome to my page! My name is Wanda Carter, and I'm so excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher. This is my seventh year teaching at Alexander. I became a teacher because I have a passion for learning as well as teaching. I love being inside a classroom where I can see my students' faces light up when they actually get what I'm trying to teach. My goal for my students is to move them from where they are to where they need to be by the end of kindergarten. In order for my students to learn, I teach to the individual student's learning style. All students learn differently, so I have to differentiate my teaching from their way of learning. I also want to make learning fun and exciting for my students. My favorite teacher in elementary school was my first-grade teacher. She had a love for teaching and she loved me! I want my students to know that I love teaching and that they are loved in my classroom.

I have been married to my husband Ricky now for 36 years, and we have two grown children, Amanda and Ricky Jr. I also have one son-in-law: Malcolm who has been married to my daughter now for 4 years. We love spending time together as a family.

I graduated from Converse College, where I received my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading a good book, spending quality time with family and friends, and watching my favorite football team, GO COWBOYS!!
