About Me

My name is Mrs. Laurie Vance, and I have been teaching for 31 years.  I have been teaching in Greenville County for 26 of those years. I have taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. This is my 6th year teaching at Northwest Middle School, and I love teaching all forms of reading and writing. My goal is to make your child love reading as much as I do!

I received my Bachelor's in English Education from Bob Jones University and my Master's in Special Education from Furman University.  I am certified in the areas of English, Learning Disabilities, and Educable Mentally Disabled.

My dream is to be able to travel one day (during the summer months, of course!) and see all of the historical literary sites of the world. My dream vacation would absolutely start in London. In fact, I got to go to London this past summer for the very first time, and I loved seeing Charles Dickens and William Shakespeare's homes!
