My name is Joy Schmauch and I left working in corporate America to follow my calling to become an English teacher. I went back to college and earned my BA from the University of South Carolina Upstate; life has come full circle as I am now proudly teaching in the same county from which I graduated.
When I'm not spending time with my husband and two young children, I can be found reading or planning our next great adventure.
My dreams involve traveling the world with my friends and family, having new experiences, and tasting different cuisines.
I have somewhat of a fear of flying, heights, and falling. So naturally, I decided to jump out of an airplane. I strive to encourage and push myself to overcome personal obstacles, just as I strive to encourage my students to be the best version of themselves.
