Mrs. Putnam's 2nd Grade Class

Welcome to Our Classroom!

My name is Liz Putnam and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! I have been teaching school for 21 years, in a variety of classroom settings. I have an Early Childhood Master's Degree from the College of Charleston and a Bachelor's in Education from the University of Georgia. This is my 11th year teaching at Brushy Creek Elementary School.

When I am not in the classroom, I love the outdoors. My family enjoys camping, hiking, and taking trips together. I also find time to walk, run, and swim. I enjoy cooking, reading, growing flowers, and playing with our dog, Cadie.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe all children have rights and are born with special gifts to share with our world. As a teacher, I am here to support children on their journey, providing rich opportunities through engaging materials, that enhance their thinking and development. I am here to question with them, walk beside them, as well as, to be a leader for them. I value, expect, and nurture participation from everyone within the school community: parents, children, teachers, and the community at large.

I love my students! I love my job! I love my school!
