All About Me

Hello everyone!  My name is Ellie Placko.  I am so excited to get to know you and your child this year.  I wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little about me and my family.  This is my 29th year teaching, 28th at Brushy Creek.  I have taught 4K, kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades.  My husband and I have three children and a dog named Chewy.  Sydney is beginning her college years at Belmont Abbey College.  She is playing softball there and we couldn't be more excited for her.  Natalie is in the 11th grade at Wade Hampton.  Nathan is in the 8th grade at Blue Ridge Middle.  All of my children love to play sports.  They play softball/baseball and basketball.  We enjoy spending time as a family without our phones out!  We are often found outside hitting baseballs and shooting the basketball.  I love to cook, bake bread, read, and walk Chewy. 

My mission is to serve your child to the best of my ability!  I want to see all children reach their potentials by the end of the year through various facets - hands on, one-on-one, small group settings, as well as whole group teaching.  I have a passion for teaching children the joy of reading.  I want them to grow to love reading as much as I do.  I am here to help them as much as possible.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions.  Thank you for allowing me to love your child just as much as you do!
