I graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education (French) and started my career teaching French to elementary-aged children. Several years later, I returned to school and earned certifications for instructing elementary education and art. In Greenville County, I have taught second grade at Blythe Academy of Languages for five years and art at Sara Collins Elementary School. This will be my sixth year teaching art at Pelham Road Elementary School. I am grateful to be working with such an amazing group of children, parents, and staff.
I was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, and lived there until age five. My family moved several times before eventually settling in Greenville. Among our many moves, we lived a total of four years in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Living in France provided ready access for weekend tours to areas with rich cultural and artistic history. The exposure to Europe provided an amazing experience and established my appreciation of the different cultures, history, and the arts.
My husband, Eric, and I have two sons. Our older son, Trevor, is a senior studying civil engineering at Clemson University and our younger son, Collin, is a sophomore studying environmental engineering at Clemson. They both attended Greenville County Schools and had wonderful experiences! In my spare time, I enjoy oil painting, walking, gardening, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends.
