About Me

Hi there! My name is Canon Mikes, and I am so excited to be joining the 3rd grade team as your child’s new teacher. I’m truly honored to step into this role midyear, and I look forward to getting to know each of you. 

I am from Greenville, SC, and I graduated from the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) with a degree in Elementary Education. I spent three wonderful years teaching and loved every minute of it. Building relationships with my students and supporting their growth as learners and individuals became one of my favorite parts of the job. Outside the classroom, I love spending time with my husband and our dog, Wylie. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost three years! I love to read, be by the water, listen to live music, and enjoy time with our friends and family.
