This is my 35th year of teaching. I have been at Slater Marietta all of these years except one. The time has passed by so quickly! I taught 3rd and 4th grades for the majority of my years, but changed to special eduation 12 years ago.
I am originally from Mt. Pleasant, SC. I moved to Greenville after I graduated from Furman in 1992. I completed my master's degree in special education at Furman in 1994. I have completed 30 hours of graduate work above my master's degree and earned my National Board Teacher certification.
Outside of teaching at Slater Marietta, I teach CPR at Furman University. During the summer I enjoy teaching people how to swim at various communities. I have been teaching swimming for over 35 years!
Outside of teaching, I love exercising, reading, going to the beach, spending time with friends, and visiting my family. I have 2 sons, T., a junior at Berry College in Rome, Georgia, who runs on the cross country and track teams, and Jay, a freshman at Furman University.
