All About Mrs. Goretzke

I live in Simpsonville with my husband and my dogs, Lola, Poppy, and Ellie. I have two grown children. My daughter, Katelyn and her husband, Dave live in Simpsonville.  My son, Nick, lives in Georgetown, SC with his wife, Ashton and and my grandchildren, Mills and Hudson. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, knitting, and watching Clemson football.

    I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Special Education. I am a trained teacher of the Hearing Impaired. I spent the first twelve years of my teaching career in the Elementary School at the Illinois School for the Deaf. I left that position when my family relocated to South Carolina. 

After moving here, I decided to become certified in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I spent several years teaching at Plain Elementary, moved to Ohio, and returned in 2012.  I have taught at Rudolph Gordon for 12 years.  

I believe in setting high standards and expectations for my students, as well as for myself. I believe that children work to our expectations.
