Academy Mission 

The mission of the unified Freshman Academy is to facilitate and support all students’ efforts and provide them with specific skills that can be applied to making a successful transition from middle school to graduation and beyond 

Resources 

Help students and parents help themselves by making resources easily accessible. 

Website Suggestions: 

• Desmos Scientific Calculator and Graphing Tool: Online calculator and graphing tool students can use if they don't have one at home.

• Calculate84 phone app: This calculator is exactly like the handheld ones we use in class. 

• Khan Academy: Algebra 1 and Geometry student's have access to mini review videos as well as practice questions for sections, practice quizzes, and practice tests. These units may be slightly different than the order taught in class, but will still find all material on there. 

• YouTube: there are thousands of videos made by teachers with examples and explanations of everything we do.  (no longer available on student chromebooks)

• IXL: This is a site where you can setup a free trial and practice math skills from elementary through college level classes. 

• Algebra Nation: Algebra 1 student's can watch lessons from an online instructor for lessons covered in Algebra 1. They will also be given a workbook that goes along with these videos to take notes in. There's also a section called "On Ramp" where they can do extra practice that moves them up through the material as they master it.
