Meet the School Counselor
Hey there!
I am so excited to be the School Counselor at SMES! My husband, daughter, dog and I live in Travelers Rest. I graduated with a Masters of Guidance and Counseling from the University of West Alabama and have an undergraduate degree from College of Charleston. I have worked many years in education in Greenville, County. I am thankful that I get to work in such a wonderful school and community. I am excited for my second year as a Green Wave!

What does a School Counselor do?
School counselors help all students:
Listen to students’ concerns about academic, emotional or social problems
Help students process their problems and plan goals and action
Mediate conflict between students and teachers
Facilitate drug and alcohol prevention programs
Organize peer counseling programs
Refer students to long-term support
Educate students about careers readiness
