Homework will be assigned some nights, Monday through Thursday. The students will use their weekly folders to keep the completed homework in. Return the folder on the day that you are to attend. This will ensure that all materials stay in one place. Organization will be modeled in class so that the students understand the procedure. I will check homework over the weekend. Completed homework is to be returned in the folder. The folder must be at school each day attended.
- Your child may have a few math problems each night. It will be a way for you to know the types of problems that we are covering in class.
- Children should be working on math facts regularly. We will have fast fact quizzes on Fridays, with the goal being mastery of all four categories: addition, subtraction and multiplication facts 0-5 toward the end of the year.
- As a part of your child's homework, they will be asked to read a required 20 minutes. This can be any reading of their choice. They may either read by themselves or to another person. There will be a reading menu to fill out and parents will need to sign it. Students will earn points for each activity completed.
