About Mrs. Scott

Hello!

My name is Danielle Scott and I am originally from a small town in Pennsylvania called Cochranton. I've been in South Carolina for about 10 years. Everyone is so friendly! I am married to a wonderful husband named Richard and we have an 8 year old daughter named Claire. We also have a black lab mix named Jack and two cats named Thelma and Izzy.

I have loved art since I was small.  Metalsmithing and ceramics are my favorite ways to make art but I also enjoy drawing, painting, and other types of art. Because I enjoy creating so much, it was an easy decision to study it in college. I earned my degree in fine art from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and then went on to earn my teaching credentials from Carlow University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. When I made the transition to South Carolina, I also received my certification to teach here as well. I earned my Masters of Education from Converse University in 2021. Since then, in 2023, I was honored to receive the South Carolina Secondary Level Art Educator of the Year award.

This is my 13th year teaching art, and I could not be more excited. This year I will introduce my students to some new ways of thinking about sculpture and functional clay. I fully believe that art and creativity are accessable to all and I am always excited to help students to find these skills within themselves. It's going to be a great year and I can't wait to meet everyone!
