I am Matthew McCormick. This is my sixth year teaching at Wade Hampton. I started off as a Geometry teacher and have had the opportunity to teach engineering for the past three years. I currently teach Principles of Engineering, Engineering Essentials, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and PLTW Capstone. My program's goal is to ensure students are prepared for life after high school either in college when they pursue an engineering or computer science degree or in a career with certifications to increase their ability to be hired.
Education
I graduated for Clemson University with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
I am completing a Masters in Teaching and Learning: STEAM
Experience
I worked for a few years as a Mechanical Designer and Construction Estimator for a commercial construction company.
This is my sixth year teaching at Wade Hampton High School and fourth year being an engineering teacher.
Hobbies
I have 2 young children that keep me busy when I am home
I have love playing with my pets and going hiking with them at state parks.
I love playing board games with my family and friends
