We are excited about some changes to the firefighting program here at Bonds! For the 24-25 school year, we will be consolidating our Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 programs into a one-year program. Students will learn personal communication skills, professional communication, fire service history, building construction, search and rescue, ladder operations, power tools, hand tools, forcible entry, fire behavior, ropes and knots, life safety initiatives, first-aid/CPR, and teamwork! In addition to the previously mentioned, students will receive training in and earn certifications in Haz-Mat Awareness, Haz-Mat Operations, and Automobile Extrication.
Successful completion of this training will allow the student to TEST for their IFSAC Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 certification which will make them immediately employable in the fire service.
For the 25-26 school year we will be adding the EMT certification course to our program.
This will allow our students to become Firefighter/EMT-certified.
