Welcome to my class!
Have you ever asked yourself a question like...
"Why is the sky blue?"
"Why does water turn into ice when it gets cold?"
"How do batteries work?"
Questions like these are the foundation of science!
Science is a field of study that tries to explain what we see & experience in the world around us, to answer the question: "Why?" It's always growing and changing as people like YOU ask more questions & learn more about our world!
What will we learn this year?
According to the 2021 SC College- and Career-Ready Science Standards, we will learn about...
-Matter & Energy
-Wave Motion
-Cell Biology & Human Anatomy
-Geology & Tectonics
-Meteorology
About me
My name is Ryan Flowers, and I'm excited to be teaching 6th grade science on Team 6-1 this school year! Growing up near the Blue Ridge area, I'm extremely fortunate to have found a place at BRMS with the wonderful students, teachers, and staff we have here. I'm eagerly anticipating the year to come; getting to know my students, helping them better themselves, and letting them better myself as a teacher and as a person.
I earned my bachelor's degree from Clemson University and my master's degree from Converse University.
In my free time, I love spending time outdoors and visiting places with great natural beauty. I am also passionate about fitness & exercise, as well as the arts of film, photography, literature, & video games.
