Welcome to Economics and U.S. Government!
Congratulations—you've made it to your senior year! This year, we will explore two subjects that directly impact your life now and will continue to affect you long after graduation.
In U.S. Government, you will learn how our government works, how laws are made, the rights and responsibilities of citizens, and how political decisions influence your daily life. Whether you plan to vote, serve in the military, attend college, enter the workforce, or start a business, understanding government will help you become an informed and engaged citizen.
In Economics, we will examine how individuals, businesses, and governments make decisions about money and resources. We will discuss topics such as budgeting, credit, investing, taxes, inflation, unemployment, and the economy as a whole. My goal is for you to leave this class with practical knowledge that will help you make smart financial decisions in the future.
This class will challenge you to think critically, ask questions, discuss current events, and connect what we learn to the real world. Success in this course does not require you to be an expert in politics or economics—it requires effort, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
As seniors, you are preparing for the next chapter of your lives. Whether your future includes college, the military, technical training, or entering the workforce, the skills and knowledge you gain this year will help prepare you for the opportunities and responsibilities ahead.
I am excited to work with each of you this year.
