I am currently using the Reading Horizons curriculum. This program helps every student to build a solid foundation in reading, and provides a framework for teaching the basic building blocks of the English language. Students will be able to directly apply decoding skills they learn during instruction into reading practice, which will help them gain confidence in reading.
In math, students learn and reinforce concepts from their general education classroom. To help them comprehend basic math concepts, we employ a variety of manipulatives. Different techniques to solving problems are taught to students so that they can determine which strategy works best for them. Students employ a variety of songs to help them remember facts.
