My name is Don Wallace, and I have been in the powersport industry for over 23 years.
My passion for powersports started when I was 10 years old, riding, breaking, and working on dirt bikes and snowmobiles. This was the spark that began my trek to teach others to become a powersports technician.
I started my journey at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College for autobody and CIS network specialist and then decided I wanted to get back to my true passion, powersports! My wife and I decided to move to Phoenix, AZ where I attended Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. I studied Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki and graduated with honors. We moved back to Wisconsin and I started working in the field at a dealership where I continued to work for the next six years. After six years in the shop, I decided I would like to teach people and ignite their passion for powersports. This led me to a teaching position at Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in 2010 where I taught all the different aspects of powersports with a concentration on electrical systems. While teaching at MMI, I earned my BS in Business Administration. After 13 years in the desert my family decide to move to a climate with more than one season, South Carolina, which led me to teach powersports at Bonds Career Center.
I enjoy teaching students and seeing the AHA moment when it all comes together, and I hope to inspire many more young adults and help them begin a career in the powersports industry.
My wife and I have been married for 22 wonderful years. We have 4 sons, 1 daughter and son-in law, 3 grandchildren, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 5 deer that come to eat in our back yard each night.
When I am not teaching, my geek side comes out. I love 3D modeling and printing, along with flying RC planes, helicopters, and drones. Other than that, my wife and I enjoy watching our favorite TV shows and movies together.
