About David Skelly:
This is my 2ndst year at Travelers Rest but my 39th year of being an educator. I started my career at Pendleton High School in Anderson County in 1987 and taught there until 2018. After 31 years at PHS I retired and went to teach at Franklin County High School in Georgia for the 6 years before coming back to South Carolina this year.
Born in Pennsylvania but raised in Blacksburg, Virginia and attended Blacksburg High School in Virginia. Attended Cleveland State Community College and obtained an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Then went on to earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Penn State University and a Master's Degree in Sports Management from the United Sports Academy.
While at Cleveland State, met my future wife, Lisa. We have been married for 37 years and have 3 grown children and two daughter in laws. Our daughter works for Anderson County Dispatch, our oldest son is an assistant baseball coach at Anderson University, and our youngest son is in his first year at Pendleton High School as an assistant in football and baseball.
Here at TR, I will be the Head Baseball Coach. At Pendleton High School, I was the Head Coach for 26 years and at Franklin County for 5 years.
