Unpack / Bathroom break / Equipment and sound check : The students enter the classroom, put their backpacks in their cubby, and use the restroom. For students with hearing devices, we attach their receivers to connect them to the FM system and conduct the Ling Six sound test.
Morning Work / Check in : We provide a daily journal in which they sign in with by practicing writing their name, letters, shapes, or numbers.
Teacher-Led Small Groups / Center Time: The teacher will pull students to work on their IEP goals, while the other students rotate centers between art area, house area, sand table, block area, book area, or table toys.
Foundations: This is a curriculum that focuses on building language for the students. An overview of the unit or lessons will be on the weekly newsletters.
Quiet Time: This will be a time for the students to rest and either nap or relax after recess and lunch.
Shared Reading/Language: At this time, the students will watch a video or the teacher signing a story or practicing the alphabet or numbers in American Sign Language. Children who do not utilize sign language will either listen to the story or participate in a different activity.
Project Work: Children will participate in projects according to the schedule, they are usually based around the time of the year such as seasons or holidays.
