At the start of each day, every student is expected to follow Oakview’s School Rules. When I push into a classroom, students are expected to follow the rules set by their classroom teacher.
When students are pulled to work with me in my room, we follow these expectations:
Follow directions quickly
Raise your hand to speak
Keep your hands and feet to yourself
Be safe, honest, and kind
Listen when the teacher is talking
To encourage positive behavior, students have the opportunity to earn a sticker each day for going above and beyond classroom expectations. At the end of the week, students who have earned all their stickers get to choose a prize from the prize box!
In addition to this reward system, students receive frequent praise for following expectations and completing tasks. Positive reinforcement is a key part of how we build a supportive and encouraging learning environment in my classroom.
