About Me

I could best describe myself as a city girl now living in a country world. Although I was born in New Haven, CT (while my father attended Yale University), I grew up on Long Island once he had graduated. Amidst the bustle of New York City, I became a voracious reader and an avid writer all while dreaming of adventure beyond the Manhattan skyline. In conjunction with my literary pursuits, I studied music and decided to pursue my initial degree in Music Education which I completed at Bob Jones University once my family had moved to the South. I went on to earn my Master’s Degree in Education at Clemson University and taught in Anderson County before transferring to Greenville County School District. In 2019, I had the honor of becoming a National Board Certified Teacher.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy lifting weights, watching sports and traveling the world. Thus far, I have been to nineteen foreign countries exploring famous sites such as the Coliseum, the Great Wall of China and the Pyramids of Giza. I seek to incorporate these experiences into my classroom so that my students might be inspired to explore the ever-changing world around them. A new adventure (i.e. semester) is about to begin for all of us. Let’s rise up to meet it. Go, Fury!
