About Me!

This is my fourth year at Northwest Middle School and I am excited to be a part of such a great team of teachers and administrators!

I graduated in 1994 with an Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from BJU. When my nephew was diagnosed with autism, I decided to go back to school for my Masters in Special Education. I completed my Master in Special Education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities in 2012 at Furman University. Upon graduation, I was honored to be asked to join the International Honor Society in Education. In 2021, I added Special Education with an emphasis in Multi-Categorical Disabilities to my certifications.

I taught at Hampton Park Christian School for 25 years. During that time I taught 2nd grade, K-4, library, and computer classes. I also taught English to Chinese students virtually in China through VIPKIDS for 2 years.

One more cool fact! Last year, I had the opportunity to be a kidney donor for a friend. The transplant was a success and she is enjoying good health again. I am so blessed to be able to help her in this way.

I love the mountains and traveling with my sister. We own a home together in Taylors and take care of our mom, who lives with us and is not in good health.

I look forward to working with your child this year at Northwest and helping him/her succeed!
