FAQ's

Q. Does every child get a speaking and singing role?

A. Yes! Our camp registration is capped in order to make sure that everyone will have a role. All roles will act, sing, dance, and speak.

Q. Will my child need a costume?

A. Certain actors will be encouraged to get or make their own costume, but this will not be a requirement. All campers can wear their camp shirt in the final performance in the place of a individualized character costume.

Q. Do I need to bring a snack?

A. Yes! Every performer should bring their own snacks and a water bottle.

Q. Is there anything we need to do to prepare for camp/show week?

A. YES! Every performer should be listening to the soundtrack and starting to sing along in the weeks leading up to camp. Performers cast in main character roles accept the role with the understanding that they should be learning their lines BEFORE the first day of camp.

Q.  Does my child have to come to a casting session?

A. Yes. Directors will place each child in a role best suited for their current performance experience and comfort levels assessed at the casting session.

Q. Is this camp for beginners with no stage experience?

A. Yes and no. Our goal is  for each camper to grow in both confidence and performance ability over just 4 short days. In order to put on a successful show in such a short time frame, we need to ensure that campers truly want to be involved. While students do NOT need to have any experience performing in front of audience, they MUST be excited about the idea of acting in a play and using their imaginations. Campers should generally enjoy singing. They do not need any dance experience, but again, should be excited about the idea of learning to dance. This camp is about DOING through the process of actually experiencing being a part of a fully produced show.

Q. Are cell phones allowed at camp?

A. Our camp days will be super busy and fun; therefore, cell phones are expected to remain in bags during the entire camp session.

Q. Can I get more than 2 show tickets?

A. Yes! Donations will be accepted at the door for additional friends and family who would like to attend the performance.

Q. What is the difference between the Extended Thursday registration option and regular Thursday registration option?

A. Our public performance is Thursday at 4pm. We end camp at 12pm on Thursday to allow performers to rest, change, and eat before reporting back to Mauldin by 3pm. Doors open at 3:30pm for the audience and the show begins at 4pm.  If you choose regular Thursday registration ($150), you agree to have your child picked up by 12 instead of 1pm on Thursday and bring them back by 3pm in costume. If you choose Extended Thursday registration ($175), your child will stay from 9-4 on Thursday and should bring a lunch, as well as their costume with them to camp.
