Teachers may check out any materials or equipment. Materials should not be passed to another teacher without following proper individual check in/out procedure.
Teachers can reserve books for classroom or media center use. Class set books should be checked out to individual students. Class set reservation google form is available here. If you cannot access to Google Form please see the library staff, and we will be happy to help you. Please note this is for library class novel sets - not textbook sets.
The media center may be reserved for class use. Requests should be made at least one day in advance. Teachers must accompany students and remain with classes. You can view the library schedule on the library website to see available dates. If you are interested in reserving the library for a class visit, please contact the librarians to be added to the schedule. Reservations should be made well in advance to prevent conflicts and ensure availability.
The Library may be reserved for before or after school use by contacting library staff and Mr. Moore via email. After school use will only be the outer library area, not the office/RR/Kitchen area. Before 8:45, please note that other students will be in the library for printing, studying, using computers, and other library items.
Library passes are required during all class periods. No student will be allowed in the library without a pass and ID.
Students must follow these procedures to use the library during instructional time:
Possess a library pass from a teacher.
Upon arriving in the library, the student will scan student ID into Library Check-In. If a student does not have an ID they will be sent to the office to purchase an ID and will be sent back to class.
When finished with work in the library, the student will scan out of Library Check-In and return to class before the end of the period. If there is a specific time the student needs to return, it is the responsibility of the teacher to let the students know.
Please note, if you send a student to the library to complete a test or quiz we cannot guarantee the student will not use other materials, as we do not know who is just doing classwork, and who is taking a test.
No food or drink (other than water) is allowed in the library.
Computers are available for school-related use only. Students must follow the Greenville County Schools Student Acceptable Use Policy Agreement. Computer games, downloading, instant messaging and personal emails are not permitted.
IDs are required to check out materials. Books are due back in three weeks (may be renewed as long as not on hold by another student).
We do not charge late fees, but if a book is lost or stolen, the student is responsible for paying the replacement cost.
Students will receive overdue library material/debt reminders weekly via email.
Students are allowed to print documents for class-related use only (no printing for personal or extracurricular use).
Students are encouraged to participate in library sponsored events and programs. Programs and clubs can be found on the library website, or you can check with the library for more info.
Online Access to eBooks
The library has many ways for you to access reading materials, even during long breaks. Destiny Discover and Sora are district provided platforms that give you 24/7 access to eBooks.
