About Mrs. Faulk

I am so excited to be the Instructional Coach at Riverside Middle School!  I have been at Riverside for 15 years.  My own children were students here, so this school is near and dear to my heart.  I have been in education for 34 years in North and South Carolina and have loved every single day of every year!! Teaching is my passion, my love, my hobby. I genuinely believe that by teaching the young people of today, we can change the world of tomorrow.  With this position, I am excited to continue on this journey alongside the awesome teachers of Riverside Middle!

My professional preparation and experience is quite broad, which helps me understand middle school teachers. I graduated from Winthrop University ('89 Elem Ed) and Clemson University ('94 Admin & '22 Inst'l Coach) I am a National Board Certified Teacher for Young Adolescents who has taught all subjects, all grades, and all levels of middle school. I've also coached competitive cheerleading, sponsored various clubs, and coordinated week-long out of state field trips.  Additionally, I am certified at the state level as an elementary educator, a middle level educator of both language arts and social studies, an educator of gifted and talented programs, a teacher leader, an elementary principal, an elementary curriculum supervisor, a teacher mentor, and an ADEPT evaluator.  I honestly believe these experiences help me relate to and understand a variety of teacher concerns and are beneficial during coaching cycles with teachers.

On a personal note, I have been married for thirty-four wonderful years to my husband, Jamie. He was an Eastside Eagle wrestler, while I was a Greer Yellow Jacket color guard member.  We have been blessed with two beautiful children, Myranda (a 5th grade teacher in Fort Mill, SC) and Dylan (a junior software engineer). Honestly, now that my husband and I aren't racing to and from dance competitions and wrestling matches, we aren't sure what to do with ourselves. However, we still enjoy traveling, camping, and spending time outdoors together as a family whenever we can!
