About Your Teachers:
Mrs. Melissa Smith I grew up in New York with her family. I have a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences Degree in Elementary and Special Education from St. Joseph's College, which is located in New York. I have a Master of Arts in Continuing Education from Stony Brook University, which is also in New York. I have lived in Greenville since October of 2007 with my husband, Paul. Our son, Tyler, is 12 and in middle school. Our daughter, Lilyana, is 4. They are the joy of our lives! This is my 17th year of teaching in Greenville County and my 8th year teaching ED Self-Contained at Bell's Crossing. I am very excited about what is in store for our class this year. We are going to have a lot of fun learning and growing together.
Mrs. Kristy Lemons is originally from New Jersey. She has been in South Carolina for over 20 years. She was a substitute teacher for 2 1/2 years. She was a part of our classroom as a long term sub during 2 of those years. This will be her 6th full year teaching in our classroom and we are so excited to have her! She has been married to her husband for 17 years. They have a son in 12th grade, one in 9th and another in 7th.
Mr. Steve Williams will be with us for a 4th year. He has been in education for 27 years prior as a crisis interventionist. He has lived in Greenville County for approximately 5 1/2 years. Prior to coming to Bells Crossing, he worked at JL Mann High School. He and his wife moved to Greenville to be closer to their kids and grandkids. They love living in Greenville, although Pennsylvania was great to live in as well. He was born in Brooklyn, NY.
