About Mrs. Turner

I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania. There I attended Slippery Rock University where I majored in special education and elementary education. At SRU, I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. I recently graduated from Lesley University with my Master's Degree in Educational Technology. According to the State Department I am "Highly Qualified" to teach Elementary Education grades 5K through 5th, the Emotionally Disabled and Educational Technology.

Teaching has always been my passion and joy. Since the age of 8, I have always wanted to be a teacher.

I have had many different teaching positions at Welcome Elementary. I taught Special Needs students for 18 years. I was a Math Coach, Computer Lab Manager and Math Interventionist. This upcoming year I will be back in the computer lab integrating technology into the curriculum to assist with language arts, math, science and social studies. This will be my first year in the regular education classroom. I am so excited to have this experience.

I am married to a wonderful man, Dexter. We have 4 children ranging in ages from 31 years to 17 years. Three of our children attended Welcome Elementary School in the past.
