Mr. Cheek's Music Class
Hello parents/guardians!
My name is Michael Cheek, and I’m a highly qualified elementary music teacher at East North Street Academy. I graduated from North Greenville University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in music education with a focus on choral music. I have lots of experience teaching music both in person, and virtually. I completed my student teaching at Skyland Elementary, and went on to be a long-term substitute teacher for both Taylors Elementary, and Mauldin High School. This will be my 5th year teaching at East North Street Academy. My goal as a teacher is to help kids experience music in a variety of ways while creating an environment of unconditional acceptance. I look forward to making music with your children!

ABOUT ME:
While my primary instrument is my voice, I also play a variety of instruments, such as the trumpet, French horn, guitar, ukulele, and piano. I've sung in many different choral groups, and also lead worship on the praise team at my church. I love to spend time by the pool or out on the lake with my family, and I love to go paddleboarding and kayaking. I have a French bulldog named Sophie who loves to play and get into mischief, and this summer I married the love of my life, Katherine, who is also a music educator.
