My name is Carrie Gardner and I am a native of Greenville. This will be my 14th year teaching at Stone Academy. I am silly, I am loving, and I am so excited to be your teacher this year.

              Background info: I graduated from USC Upstate with a B.A. in Education. I have 2 pets, Kitty  who's a cat, and a bunny named Nibbles, who has officially retired as a class pet as of this year.  I have two sisters, one older, who has 3 boys I adore, and one younger. I also have a younger brother.  I recently got remarried to the love of my life, Bobby Gardner who is a native of Kentucky. Some of my favorite activities include swimming, camping, hiking, bike riding on the Swamp Rabbit, and reading. My all time favorite book series is Percy Jackson and the Olympians written by Rick Riordan.

          I have attended many different workshops including the Summer Institute workshop at the Peace Center where I was fortunate enough to work with several very talented artists from the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. I have also attended 6 years of SmartARTS, funded by the Metropolitan Arts Council at the Fine Arts Center.  In addition, I taught, as well as attended, several technology workshops at the Upstate Technology Conference. I have taught camps for students and teachers at Roper Mountain Science Center, as well as participated in Orton-Gillingham training, which is language-based reading instruction. I look forward to using strategies I've learned during this upcoming school year.  

        I can't wait to spend the next year learning and growing with you and your child!
