I recently completed an additional Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education. I hold South Carolina Teaching Certifications in the following areas: Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Special Education, Literacy Teacher, Literacy Coach, and Literacy Specialist.
My Experiences:
This year I will be starting my 24rd year teaching! I started teaching third grade in Virginia and then I moved to my hometown in Connecticut and taught Special Education and second grade. For my last five years in Connecticut, I was a Reading and Language Arts Consultant. I joined the Hollis Academy family as a Reading Interventionist serving students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2. This is my eighth year as the Literacy Specialist for the building supporting our students, families, and staff. I look forward to another wonderful school year!
My Family:
I met my wonderful husband, Michael, in college and have been married for 21 years! We have two beautiful children, Michael, who is starting his second year at Greenville Technical College, and Madelyn, who is starting 12th grade this year. We also have two dogs, Jeter (yes, named after Yankees' captain, Derek Jeter!!) and Daisy. We enjoy sports, especially watching the Denver Broncos and New York Yankees! We also enjoy taking walks, hikes, and bike rides, going to the beach, and having new adventures.
My family visited the Grand Canyon in 2017. In 2022, we visited Mt. Rushmore, The Badlands National Park, the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone National Park, and Glacier National Park. We hope to continue to visit more national parks!
