Mrs. Bagwell’s 2025-2026
Music Classroom Syllabus
· Lessons are based on the State Standards for Music Education.
· Music is a skill-building class. To best meet the needs of the students, some objectives may be repeated across grades. However, the activities will vary according to the age and be developmentally appropriate to enhance each student's skills.
· Often, students may rehearse and prepare for a school-wide performance during music instruction. This time will be addressed with National and State Standards with comprehensive musicianship in mind. Students will not only be rehearsing, but also learning about multiple musical skills and cross curricular connections while preparing for performances.
· The Music classroom is a safe environment for students to explore creativity and self- expression with specific guidelines. Positive character is encouraged as students are taught to work independently, in small groups or as an ensemble to achieve music goals.
Grading
Students will receive an M (Meeting) or a P (Progressing) at the end of each nine weeks. Grades will be determine based on if students are meeting or progressing toward the state general music education standards. During lessons students will be assessed using Q & A quizzes, Digital Interactive assessments and Performance Rubrics.
