Course Description

The purpose of this course is to develop students’ understanding of the concepts of calculus by providing them experience with its methods and applications. Students perform better when they understand the “why”, not just the “what” and “how”. The students will be taught four main ideas throughout this course: limits, derivatives, indefinite integrals, and definite integrals. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of proper mathematical communication and students will work with concepts through verbal or written representations, numerical analysis, graphical analysis and analytical or algebraic analysis.
