Introduction
Hello, and welcome! My name is Lauren Martorell (Mar-tor-ell), my pronouns are she/her, and this is my ninth year teaching but my third at J.L. Mann Academy. I am originally from Upstate New York and moved to Greenville after graduating from college—where I went to school and also met my husband! We have since relocated from the North and obtained two loving rescue pups named Rupert and Sebastian.
Other than my love for reading and writing, I also have an array of interests. I have an affinity for food and music. If you don't see me working or attending student performances and games, then I'm usually driving somewhere to indulge in delicious fare or to hear good music. I love to stay active, travel, and immerse in local culture. I also enjoy collecting vinyl records, gardening, binge-watching series, snowboarding, and spending time with my friends and family.
