I am thrilled to be a 5th grade teacher at Pelham Road! I have been involved with Pelham Road since my daughter began kindergarten here and she has graduated from college and graduate school! I served on the PTA Board here for 11 years and substituted here for 8 years. I love this school dearly.
My husband, Scott and I have 3 grown children. Sara and her Husband, Patrick who live in Charleston. They have a baby girl, Bridget. She is 6 months old and SO PRECIOUS! She has three published poetry books! She tutors high school English and does College Counseling. She also manages Blue Bicycle Books, a used book store on King Street. Tyler and his Wife Caty live in Los Angeles, California. They both are writers for TV. He had the experience of living and working in Hong Kong last year as they filmed a new show called "The Season." Matthew and his wife Arden, live in Atlanta. They are expecting a baby girl at the end of September! He owns a his own company called "Uproar."
Outside of school, also teach yoga and Pilates at the Eastside YMCA, walk my dog a lot, and I enjoy reading and working on jigsaw puzzles.
I graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. I earned my Masters in Education from Southern Wesleyan University, and then earned my National Boards in Adolescent Mathematics. I grew up in Tacoma, Washington and moved to Charleston, SC when I got married. Finally we moved to Greenville in 1987. I have lived on the same street since we moved here, although not the same house!
I taught Middle School (all subjects...mostly Math) before I was lucky enough to take time off to be home with our children. Now, I am lucky enough to teach at Pelham Road!
