Welcome to the 2025 -2026 school year at Woodmont Middle School. My name is Dr. Laura King, and this is my second year teaching at Woodmont Middle School. I am part of the fabulous 8.1 team teaching English Language Arts. I recently moved to the beautiful state of South Carolina from Arizona. I am enjoying the rain, the creeks, and all the green trees.
I have been married for 37 years and have two children. I am also the proud grandma of three beautiful grandchildren. As my hobbies, I love to read and bake. I also love spending time playing with my grandchildren. I enjoy drinking coffee, and I can often be spotted at Starbucks on the weekends!
I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Northern Arizona University. I completed by Doctorate degree from Walden University in October of 2023. It was always a dream of mine to attend college and become a teacher. After I was married and had my children, I decided to pursue this dream. I am the first person in my family line to attend college, and I hope that my accomplishments will be an inspiration to others in my family and to my grandchildren. I am entering my 26th year of teaching. I have taught grades 3rd to College level, but I have spent 18 of those years teaching middle school.
