My name is Denise Alexander. This is my 30th year at Fork Shoals.  I have taught Kindergarten ,   third grade  and first grade all at Fork Shoals School. My Masters degree is from Winthrop and I have been a Nationally Board Certified teacher. My husband, Andy, and I have two grown children, one son in law and two fur babies.

I feel very lucky to have a job that combines both my passion for working with children and adults. 

 As a Literacy Specialist I will :     

•  provide specialized instruction directly to students to support core classroom instruction, and works collaboratively to implement a quality reading program.

• assist with the evaluation of the literacy program and communicate the results to classroom teachers, parents, and specialized personnel. 

• act as a resource to other educators, parents, and the community.
