About me

My name is Linda M. Kirksey. I am an educator who is proud to boast that I have 46 years of educational experience. I taught Resource at Bryson Middle School for 22 years. I taught special education in a high school setting for 4 years at Dorman High School in District Six located in Spartanburg , SC. Currently I am a special education teacher at Venice Group Homes where I have taught for 5 years. I also had the privilege of working as a Special Education Coordinator for 15 years. I received a BA from Knoxville College located in Knoxville, Tennessee. I completed my post graduate work at Furman University where I earned two Master's Degrees. I received a M.A. in special Education. and a M.ED. in Administration and Leadership. My philosophy is simple: Treat every student the same as I would want someone to treat my own children. One of many lessons I have learned is that children, regardless of their age or any other circumstance or statistic, need unconditional love. In other words I love the students but not their negative behaviors. I raise the bar and expect them to meet or exceed it. My students are my testimonies.
