About Mrs. Goretzke

I live in Simpsonville with my husband and my dogs, Louie, Poppy, and Ellie. I have two grown children. My daughter, Katelyn, lives in Simpsonville. My son, Nick, lives in Georgetown, SC with his wife, Ashton and baby daughter, Mills. When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, knitting, and watching Clemson football.

I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Special Education. I am a trained teacher of the Hearing Impaired. I spent the first twelve years of my teaching career in the Elementary School at the Illinois School for the Deaf. I left that position in 1997 when my family relocated to South Carolina.

After moving here, I decided to become certified in Elementary Education. I spent several years teaching at Plain Elementary, moved to Ohio, and returned in 2012. This is my seventh year teaching at Rudolph Gordon.

I believe in setting high standards and expectations for my students, as well as for myself. I believe that children work to our expectations.

If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to call me. My phone number at school is 452-0246.
