Mrs. Smith

My name is Laura Smith, and I am an LD Resource teacher.   I graduated from Lander University with an Early Childhood Degree in 2011.  I was a substitute teacher for three years around the district.  After that, I worked with four-year-olds at Dunbar Child Development Center for four years.  I went through SC CREATE to get certified in LD Resource during my first two years at Grove.  This is my sixth year teaching at Grove.  I graduated with my Master's in Special education from Coastal Carolina in May 2024.

I married my wonderful husband, Jonathan Smith, in December 2019. We have three cats and one dog. I enjoy reading, hiking, and hanging out with my family. The Grove Special Education team is an amazing bunch of teachers who truly love and care for their students.  The Grove teaching staff is one of the best; all the teachers care greatly for their students and try to do what is best for them.
