Hi all! My name is Kaitlyn Cooper!
I am thrilled to be joining Lake Forest Elementary School as the school based mental health counselor. I look forward to being a part of this community. I am eager to support students, families, and staff throughout this school year while contributing to a positive, nurturing environment where everyone can thrive.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with experience using evidence-based practices and serving clients in a private practice setting during my Masters program in Forensic Psychology with The Chicago School (2023). During my graduate internship I learned how to develop a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow.
I have an extensive background in social work and leadership from serving the Greenville community within the foster care community at the Department of Social Services for the past several years. I obtained my Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Advocacy Studies in 2017 from the University of South Carolina Upstate.
I am excited to continue my academic endeavors with actively pursuing a PhD in Developmental Psychology at Liberty University (began Spring 2026).
Outside of my professional life, I am a wife to an amazing husband and a mother to a wonderful and wild toddler daughter. I enjoy spending time being outdoors, being with family and friends, and playing with my energetic 10 year old Dachshund named Chevy.
