I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. This is my 14th year in education. I was raised in the Blue Ridge community, and have lived within 10 miles my entire life. One of my joys is to watch the students walk into my classroom and see their parents in them. I attended Skyland Elementary, Blue Ridge Middle, and Blue Ridge High (Class of '95). I have a bachelor's degree from North Greenville University in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. After teaching for a few years, I attained a master’s degree from Lesley University, that focused on integrating the arts into the curriculum. Currently, I am working on my doctorate through North Greenville University in K-12 Leadership. I am certified in the Orton- Gillingham Method; this is a prescriptive multi-sensory way of teaching reading. It follows along with Project Read and Fountas and Pinnell, which are both programs that are being implemented here at Mountain View. Your child will be exposed to all of these methods and philosophies through out the upcoming school year.
My husband, Joey Dill, and I have been married for 22 wonderful years. He was also born and raised in the Blue Ridge Community. During our 22 years, we have been blessed with 2 two children. My daughter, Savannah, is attending North Greenville University pursuing a degree in Biology. And my son, Addison, is a senior at Blue Ridge High School.
During our spare time, which seems to be rare, we love to travel and watch movies!
Your children will tell you, I am very animated and have quite a few "interesting" sayings. One of my favorite subjects to teach is reading and writing. I love help children understand the relationship between figurative language and the author's craft. This information will be embedded through out the year. I feel so very blessed to wake up every day loving my job. I can assure you that I will love your children as if they were my own. I will always have their best interest at heart. If there is ever anything that you need to ask please feel free to call or email me.
