Expectations
Expectations:
Come to class on time every day, find your desk, get your supplies ready, and begin working on the warm-up.
Be on time to class, ready to learn! This means in your seat, with your binder out. Make sure your pencil is sharpened and you have lined paper.
Wear your ID at all times and adhere to the dress code.
No food or drink should be consumed outside of the cafeteria. Water may be brought into the classrooms in a transparent, sealed bottle.
Be an active part of class - that includes participating in discussion and being a vital member in group assignments. Always stay engaged and stay on task.
Treat your teacher, your classmates, property, and yourself with respect; no physical, verbal, or emotional abuse; no threatening or yelling.
Be open to new ideas! We will have an open environment that welcomes each and every opinion and values each and every student’s inherent worth.
Tardies and Time Out of Class:
The school's tardy and time out of class policies will be followed.
Cell Phone Use
Students are not to use their phones at any time during class. If you need to contact your child during the school day, please call the front office at 864-355- 0100.
Absences:
If you must be absent from class, make arrangements ahead of time to make up a test, quiz, or assignment that you will miss during that class day. You have 5 school-days to make up missed work. Always check Google Classroom for assignments.
Grading:
Major assignments will count for 60 percent of your quarterly grade. These include tests and multi-day projects. Minor assignments will count 40 percent of your quarterly grade; these include homework, quizzes, and in-class assignments. The final exam will count for 10 percent of your final grade.
Late Work Policy:
I expect all assignments to be completed. I can not grade what you know if your work is not turned in.
10 points will be deducted from homework assignments that are one day late. Beyond that, students must turn in homework assignments by the posted cut-off dates to receive a maximum grade of 60.
You should plan on bringing the following materials to class each day.
Binder or folder
College Ruled Paper
Pencils
