Hello! My name is Kathleen Johnson, and this is my 12th year teaching, all at Greenville High School. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and Mathematical Sciences from Clemson University and my Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Boise State University. Originally from Sumter, SC, I stayed in the Upstate after attending Clemson.
I am passionate about math, especially algebra and geometry, and I’m excited to be teaching both again this year. My main priority is for students to feel safe, supported, and valued in my classroom. I aim to help them build confidence in math, develop strong problem-solving skills, and, hopefully, enjoy learning along the way. I strive to create an engaging and encouraging environment where questions are welcomed, effort is celebrated, and every student knows they belong.
In addition to teaching, I serve as one of the FCA Advisors and Spirit Week Advisors, which allows me to connect with students outside of class and help foster a positive school culture.
Outside of school, I love spending time with family and friends, traveling, photography, and following college football and other sports. I’m looking forward to this school year and know it’s going to be a great one!
