My husband Scott and me
My baby boy Parker
My name is Krista McRee, and I am currently teaching Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 during the Fall Semester of the 2025-2026 school year. In addition to my regular teaching duties, I am the head of the World Languages Department, sponsor of the Spanish Honor Society, and a teacher mentor. This is my 20th year at Berea High and my 27th year of teaching!
I was born in Greenville, and I grew up in Berea. In fact, I attended Armstrong Elementary and Berea Middle School, and I graduated from Berea High in 1993. I am also a graduate of The College of Charleston, where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, and I completed my degree in Secondary Education at Furman University.
I have been married to Scott McRee for almost 20 years. We do not have any biological children; however, we do have 2 "fur babies". Our first fur baby is a three and a half year-old Boston Terrier named Parker. He is named after Parker District Fire Department where my Daddy worked so hard for so many years. Our other one is a cat we acquired about four years ago after my husband made the mistake of feeding her, and her name is Kitty (but I prefer to call her Ma'am).
I love spending time with my husband, family, Parker and my friends, and I love all things Boston Terrier/English Bulldog/French Bulldog. I love my church and singing, and I also love succulents/cacti, and Frida Kahlo is my favorite visual artist. I love rock music (especially from the 1980's and 1990's), British and Irish television, and I am learning to love to travel more.
I am excited to get to know all of my students and their families this school year! Please let me know if I can ever be of any assistance to you! GO BULLDOGS!!
