Hello! My name is Kara Launius and I am so excited to be your student's 2nd grade teacher this year! I graduated from Clemson University in 2019 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and again in 2020 with a master's in Teaching and Learning - Go Tigers! This will be my sixth year teaching and my fifth year at Paris in 2nd grade!

I grew up in Powdersville, SC and have 3 brothers, 1 sister-in-law, and a 6 year old niece. I was a competitive dancer for 8 years and a competitive gymnast for 12. During my time at Clemson, I was very involved in an organization called Central Spirit, which supports all of Clemson's athletics (most notably known as the people who run the Clemson flags on the field during kickoff and paint up for the football games). 

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, finding new shows on Netflix to watch, and being outdoors when it is warm and sunny. My favorite place to be is the lake or the beach, but 7 Saturdays a year you will find me in Death Valley cheering on the Tigers!
