Welcome toNorthwood Middle School! My name is Kevin Armstrong and I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th Virtual Enterprises - Junior Ventures (VE-JV). This is my 15th year teaching and I have taught classes in Reading Support, English/Language Arts, Social Studies and Technology. I am delighted to be your child’s teacher this year. I am looking forward to a productive and rewarding year of learning and getting to know every one of my students.

I grew up in Florida and Minnesota and graduated from Martin County High School in 1982. After high school I entered the United State Air Force and served honorably for over 7 years at Shaw AFB, SC and Hill AFB, UT. I then spent many years as a restaurant general manager and in the business world working in telecommunications in the Upstate. While in the USAF I earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Management from Park University and when I decided to become a teacher, I went back to school and graduated from Clemson University with a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2006, Middle Grades Education, specifically ELA & Social Studies. I have always wanted to be a teacher and feel privileged to have the opportunity to teach at such a superlative school with a supportive team of teachers and staff.

I am also fortunate to be married to the love of my life! My wonderful wife is also a middle school teacher and teaches 6th grade ELA and Social Studies at Woodmont Middle School. We have 7 children ages 26-35.

Although there is not a lot of free time, when I do find a minute I enjoy photography, reading, and spending time with my wife and children (when they have time of course!). We enjoy being outside; going to the beach and especially boating! I also love to watch football with my wife, particularly the Miami Dolphins, Clemson, and USC. My favorite places to visit are Cancun, Freeport, Bahamas, Las Vegas, Edisto Beach, Disney World, Charleston and Southeast Florida beaches. We travel as often as possible!

It is an honor for me to be your child’s teacher this year! Email is the most effective and efficient way for us to communicate. If possible, please be sure that you provide me with an email address and notify us of any changes throughout the year. If you need to schedule a conference, please feel free to contact the school.
