Meet Your Teacher 

I am so glad that you are going to be a Bryson Bear!   Here is a little information about me.  I have lived in South Carolina my entire life.  I was born in Columbia and then my parents  moved to Spartanburg when I was five, so that is where I grew up and went to school when I was younger. I have an older sister and a younger sister.  I have an Economics and Political Science degree from Clemson University (1998) and an Early Childhood Education degree from the University of South Carolina Upstate (2010).  

My family and I have lived in Simpsonville for 25 years.  I have been married for 26 years to my husband, B.J., and we have two daughters, Madison (24) and Alyssa (22).  Both of our girls were former Bryson Elementary Students and have had some excellent teachers!!  Madison graduated from  Clemson University in May 2023!  She obtained her Master's of Fine Arts at MICA which was in Maryland!  I am so happy to have her back at home.  Alyssa graduated from Furman University in May 2025 and is currently at Wake Forest working on her Master's of Science in Business Data Analytics.  We have a cat named Moon.   We are very involved at our church.  We love to go to Edisto Beach each summer!   We enjoy going to Clemson and Furman football games in the fall.  

In addition to teaching, I enjoy running, gardening, trying out new recipes in the kitchen and being outside when it is warm and sunny!  Tulips are my favorite flowers.  I do not have a favorite color because I just cannot pick one...I like them all especially bright colors!  

This will be my fourteenth year teaching at Bryson Elementary. I look forward to meeting you and learning all about you!
