Welcome to 8th Grade!

I'm excited to be your ELA teacher this year as I celebrate my 26th year of teaching!

My degree is in English and I am certified to teach both middle and high school. I have taught all levels of English, along with Competitive Speech and Debate, in all grades, 6-12. I am honored to have served as Teacher of the Year at both Beck Academy and Mauldin High School and South Carolina PTA State Teacher of the Year while I was at Beck Academy. In 2024, I was named the South Carolina Association for Middle Level Education Educator of the Year for the Upstate region.  

When I'm not teaching, I spend time with my my husband, my two children, and our dog.  If we're not at the ball field or at a kid's lesson of some kind, you can usually find me reading (of course), watching college football (Florida State Seminoles) or MLB (Atlanta Braves),  or planning ways to get outside and see new places.
